Series 1 Jenny Lee gets her first job at Nonnatus House and as she begins to care for her patients, she gradually becomes accustomed to her new environment, making friends with fellow midwives Cynthia, Trixie and Chummy. Series 2 Now settled into Poplar, Jenny still finds herself shocked by the harsh conditions faced by many patients. Trixie and Sister Evangelina board a Swedish cargo ship to treat the Captain's daughter, and Dr Turner introduces the latest pain relief - gas and air.
